So…where do I start? I’m not used to talking about myself. I’m Jessica and I love to read, hence the name of the blog. Ever since I’ve been able to read, I’ve always had my nose in a book. I’ve read a whole array of different stories over the years (I have been reading since the age of 4!), some great, some not so great. Unfortunately, I am unable to remember every book I have ever read, as there have been so many, so I thought it would be best just to start with the most recent.

I have a little girl who is almost 4 (going on 14), and I am very pleased to say that she also loves books as much as me. She also has a collection almost as big as mine. It’s been so lovely to see her take to books like I did at her age, as well as seeing how she’s now got her favourites, which she likes her dad and I to read to her at bedtime.

The reason behind starting a blog is down to my dad. We were talking one day and I can’t remember how we got on to it, but he told me I should start writing reviews on all the books I read. At the time, I didn’t really take much notice, but the more I thought about it, the more I thought it wasn’t actually a bad idea. All my friends ask me which books are good to read, so I thought maybe other people were also wondering which book they should read next. So, this is why I am here writing to you all now.

Before I go, I just want to give you an idea of what to expect from my blog. I will use this blog to write reviews on all the books I read, give my feedback on what I thought about the book, if I liked it or if it wasn’t quite the story for me. What you won’t find me doing on this blog is giving away all the details of a book that make the story interesting. This is one of my bugbears when it comes to reading reviews. I often find that some reviewers feels it is only a review if they spoil everything in it for you, meaning after you have finished the review, there is no longer any need to actually read the book.

Anyway, that’s enough of me waffling, so I will say cheerio. I really hope you enjoy reading my reviews and I hope I can help you find your next book.
